Fair Wages Commission Makes a Stop in City

The Fair Wages Commission in making a stop in Prince George today. The three-member panel will hold a public consultation at the Coast Inn from 11:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. today. The Commission is working toward advising the provincial government on how to move toward a $15 an hour minimum wage. The Prince George Chamber of commerce is presenting to the panel, warning that wage increases could hurt small business in the city. Chamber President Corey Naphtali says the jump to $15 an hour is a big one, and he fears layoffs and possible closures of small business as a result.
