Time Change Particularly Tough On Kids

PRINCE GEORGE – You might feel a little groggier heading to work or school Monday morning after the time change this weekend. According to child psychologist Dr. Cindy Hardy, the shift can actually be the most difficult on children.

“Especially the elementary school age children who have to get to school at a certain time, it might be kind of hard for them the first week or so,” says Dr. Hardy.

The clocks will spring ahead one hour on Sunday. The shift can be the most difficult for children who crave routine, but there are some things parents can do.

Dr.Hardy suggests parents adjust a child’s bedtime slowly in 15-minute increments, to get them used to the change over a few days.
