PRINCE GEORGE – The Cougars are joining forces with a local roofing company to announce a community project that will result in the delivery of a new home for a deserving family. It’s called the ‘Pay it Forward Welcome Home Project’ and it’s scheduled to run through the 2018 – 2019 hockey season.

Ridgeline Roofing is working with the Cougars on the project.  It’s bringing together a group of local contractors and tradespeople to build a modest, functional home in central Prince George.  Ridgeline Roofing owner Josh Eisworth says “It’s an honour and a privilege to have this opportunity four our won business to work with other contractors and businesses in Prince George, to do something special that will help to continue to make Prince George a great city to live in.”

Andy Beesley, the Cougars Vice-President of Business, believes this is the first time a project like this, has been proposed in Canadian Hockey League history.  “This is unique, to put it mildly.”  He says the next step is to call on Prince George residents to nominate a deserving family.  “We’re inviting everyone to think about ‘paying it forward’ simply by thinking about other people who could use a break, and how your nomination might end up changing someone’s life for the better.”

Nominations will open March 28th.  Forms will be available from the Ridgeline Roofing and Prince George Cougars websites.  You can also pick up a nomination form from the offices of the two businesses.  A closing date for nominations will be announced later this year.
