PRINCE GEORGE – Technology is sometimes known to help advance business operations. UNBC is presenting a workshop for those who would like to introduce advanced techniques into their wood manufacturing business. UNBC is demystifying the advanced wood manufacturing and showing the simplicity of the technology.  According to UNBC Senior Lab Instructor Maik Gehloff in the wood building industry, much of the precutting is done by hand. Having a machine to do the cutting before it reaches the construction site can improve the final product.  The two-day workshop covers topics that include machines that are Computer Numerical Controlled and explains 3 – axis machines.  For those who are looking to branch out in advance wood manufacturing techniques, more workshops are planned for this fall.
