PRINCE GEORGE  – The RCMP are looking for more recruits. Saturday at their Prince George North District Headquarters, officers provide details on the recruiting process including the requirements and expectations for applying and how to prepare for each stage.

This comes after a week of training teenagers in their Youth Academy at Kelly Road Secondary School. Students were put through a series of training exercises and lectures to simulate what life would be like at the RCMP’s Training Academy in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Training isn’t easy says Constable Darren Warn.

“We actually learned how to march [at the Youth Academy], and that drill is a very, you could almost say scary part of Depot,” says Constable Darren Warn. Warn attended the Youth Academy as a student in 2005 and went to Depot in 2013.
