PRINCE GEORGE – Since December, five Francophone students attending Duchess Park Secondary have been in training to take part in a bike relay. They will be joining thousands of Francophone students across the country are doing the same.

These students will be riding from Vancouver Island to Chilliwack.

“Between three days, we do around 300 kilometres, maybe 350 kilometres,” says Alyssa Hartford, who has done the ride in the past in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. “They average out to about 100 kilometres a day. Every section of this relay is different.”

They are joining like-minded students in the various communities they stop in, where they will go into schools to talk about the importance of healthy living and physical activity.
