PRINCE GEORGE – A local first nation is set to initial an updated treaty with the provincial and federal government. Back In 2007, members of the Lheidli T’enneh voted on a Final Agreement and Constitution, at that time the Constitution was accepted, but not the Final Agreement.
An updated treaty has been in the works for some time. It includes the ratification of 4,330 hectares of land, including the current reserve which presently is owned by the federal government. A ceremony is set for Saturday at the Civic centre and is open to members of the Lheidli T’enneh Band.
