Construction Noise Not A Problem For Downtown Business
PRINCE GEORGE- The sound of construction can be heard for blocks in the downtown but that’s a good thing, according to local business owners. The new housing units will hopefully attract more people to spend time downtown. “We’re really excited, the growth and what has come to downtown Prince George in our little area with the Keg, Crossroads, myself, Serengeti as well, is creating a little vibe that almost has a south Granville feel,” said Ohh Chocolat Cafe general manager, Wendy Giannisis. While the noise may affect patio season, Giannisis said it is quiet inside the cafe and it will stay open all summer despite construction and road closures.
A&T Project Development is building the condos across from city hall, the company announced this week the hope is to have residents move in by 2020. “Everybody is working as hard and as fast and diligently as possible to try and mitigate and minimize the noise and expedite the schedule,” said Marketing and Sales VP, Gary Reed. “We appreciate the patience, we are very well aware that construction noise disturbance is never a good thing but it’s part of development.”
