PRINCE GEORGE – A BC-based architecture and design firm and a Prince George engineering company have been selected to design the new Fire Hall Number 1.
HCMA Architects out of Vancouver and L&M Engineering out of Prince George will do the work.

HCMA is no stranger to Prince George having designed the Bioenergy Plant at UNBC and is also working on a new design for Kelly Road High School.

The Fire Department itself will play a role in the development of the new hall.

“We have to make sure we plan for any future growth, equipment-wise and for service-delivery,” explains Fire Chief John Iverson. “We also provide fire dispatch service for a tremendous footprint in this province.”

In October, residents voted in favour of the City borrowing up to 15 million dollars in funding to rebuild the new hall beside the Family Y of Northern BC.
