UNBC Investigates Readings from Lower Cost Air Quality Monitors

PRINCE GEORGE – Low cost air quality monitors have been on the market for a few years,  but the readings can be difficult for the average person to interpret.

That’s the subject of an ongoing study led by UNBC meteorologist Peter Jackson.  He’s found the cheaper Purple Air monitors correlate well with the more expensive ones,  but the output needs to be adjusted with the help of a website he is working on along with his research team.

Jackson is hoping to make the website public once the study is finished, making air quality numbers even more accessible to the public.
