2018 WildFire Season Falls Short As One Of The Worst

PRINCE GEORGE – The 2018 wildfire season falls short of as one of the worst wildfire seasons in British Columbia’s history. The summer of 2017 will be remembered as one of the worst, according to BC Wildfire Service more hectares of forest burned during the 2018 season but fewer people got displaced. Environmental and structural losses during the 2017 season amounted to 540 million dollars worth of firefighting efforts. This year’s costs, while still being tallied sits at around 460 million dollars. BC Wildfire Service will not have a final number until everything gets paid and accounted for.
