Volunteers Needed For Thanksgiving
PRINCE GEORGE – The Saint Vincent de Paul drop-in centre is looking for volunteers to serve during their Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, October 7th. The centre is expecting between 600 and 800 people during dinner, depending on the weather, making Thanksgiving the centre’s busiest day of the year. With such high attendance numbers, the centre really relies on volunteers to help busy days like Thanksgiving, run as smoothly as possible.
“We are still looking for volunteers, we’re getting nearly enough, but we are still needing about a dozen, or upwards of 20 volunteers. We just ask them to phone into the centre here and register their names and how many people will be down there,” says Corey Tataryn, the drop-in centre’s manager.
The dinner is going to be held at Sacred Heart’s auditorium from 11:30-1:30. The dinner is prepared by students from the culinary program at CNC.
