Victoria Says Pipeline Repairs Will ‘Take Some Time’

PRINCE GEORGE — It looks like it’s going to take longer than originally thought to complete repairs on Enbridge’s natural gas pipeline north of Prince George.

Some suggested work could be finished by the end of the week but Michelle Mungall, Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources, says that’s not the case.

“It will take some time before repairs can be made to the 36-inch line, so FortisBC is asking customers to continue to avoid non-essential use of natural gas until this supply issue is resolved.”

The explosion occurred Tuesday night, forcing the evacuation of close to 100 people.
