COQUITLAM – The Spruce Kings pulled out a 5-4 win in the Lower Mainland on Friday night.

The Kings were in Coquitlam for their 4th meeting of the year, now sitting at 3 wins against the Express this season.

The game started with Dustin Manz putting the puck at the back of Coquitlam’s net. Nick Bochen followed minutes later with the second goal of the night ending the first period 2-0 for Prince George.

By the end of the second period, Manz added another goal for the Kings but it was answered by Coquitlam leaving the score 3-1 heading into the final 20 minutes.

The third period was action-packed. The Express scored at both the 9-second and 40-second mark, followed up by the Spruce King’s Ben Poisson minutes later.

The game went into overtime minutes but didn’t need many of them. Nearly two minutes in Ben Brar scored to end the game 5-4 for the Spruce Kings.

Prince George plays again Saturday night in Langley before returning to Coquitlam to play the Express once more Sunday afternoon.
