PRINCE GEORGE – Students at Heritage Elementary school were encouraged to stop drop and read this morning.
A number of local celebrities including Mayor Lyn Hall were on hand to lead students through the event, which got kids to stop everything they were doing and find a place to read for fifteen minutes.
The event is also in conjunction with National School Library Day and BC School Library Day.
Heritage Teacher Librarian Jessica Bonin says “school libraries are powerful, we’re here, we want kids to be reading and we want everyone to know that literacy is available for all.”
