Shopping Local This Weekend
PRINCE GEORGE – November is a busy month for those who shop locally. Over the weekend of November 9th to 11th, there are many different craft fairs with local artists and vendors showing off their work around Prince George.
One of many events is the Handy Circle Resource Society Christmas Fair being held at AiMHi. The Handy Circle Resource Society started their fair nearly 11 years ago when it was held in a boardroom with roughly 5 tables. Now the Society hosts the event inside AiMHi so they can fit this year’s high of 38 tables.
“It’s a fundraising and awareness event, a few tables go to people with disabilities and they get to sell their own crafts. That’s what we are all about, helping people with disabilities, helping them get out and show off what they can do,” says Lorraine Young, Office Program Manager at the Handy Circle Resource Society.
Young says November is one of the only months of the year they don’t have a ton of events going on and that’s why they host their fair this time of year.
