CKPG News projects BC Conservative majority government
PRINCE GEORGE — CKPG News is projecting the BC Conservatives will form a majority government following Saturday’s provincial election.
Based on CKPG News’ election-night numbers, the Conservatives have won or are leading in 62 ridings, compared with 29 for the BC NDP and two for the BC Greens. With 47 seats required for a majority in British Columbia’s 93-seat legislature, that would put the Conservatives comfortably over the threshold needed to form a majority government.
The result would bring an end to the NDP’s time in government and mark a dramatic shift in the province’s political landscape.
The Conservative wave is also being felt across northern B.C.
