PRINCE GEORGE — A busy morning for Prince George Fire Rescue as multiple crews responded to two early morning blazes.

The first broke out at an older single story abandoned home at the 1700 block of 5th Avenue and Prince Rupert Street at around 2:20 a.m.

“The responding crews were able to contain the fire to the dwelling involved and eventually extinguish the fire,” says Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Woodhouse. “There was damage to the home. A dollar estimate is not available at this time.”

He says crews responded to another fire at the 2200 block of Redwood Street at around 2:40 a.m.

Woodhouse says that fire originated in the laundry home of the single story home.

“There was significant fire damage to the laundry room with smoke damage throughout the structure. A dollar loss estimate is not available at this time.”

He says a family of three was home but were all safely evacuated.

Both fires are under investigation.
