Salvation Army Hampers Handed Out

PRINCE GEORGE- Volunteers and staff at the Salvation Army are working hard to hand out hampers this week. There were 120 sponsored families this year, meaning others in the community donated food items and worked to cross off items on each person’s wishlist in the family. In addition to that, more than 300 applications for hampers came in this year. The Salvation Army is still accepting donations and whatever isn’t handed out this year will help people in our community next Christmas or will be handed out from the Salvation Army food store. About 25 volunteers are needed for each day to run smoothly, but program coordinator Terra Laflamme says volunteers almost always come back for all three days as it’s such a heartwarming event.
