Residents Wake To Treacherous Conditions

PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George residents woke up this morning to treacherous conditions, both of the streets, but also on the sidewalks. The morning snow turned into afternoon rain and evening frost.

“Definitely, starting a week ago Thursday, it’s been a challenge having snow and then ice and rain,” says Blake McIntosh, the Manager of Streets and Fleet Services for the City. “It’s definitely not the norm for this time of year.”

However, not enough snow came down to trigger bringing out the big snow and ice control equipment.

All the same, McIntosh says the City is using salt and aggregrate, starting on the major roads.
