All Eyes On Nanaimo For Crucial Byelection
PRINCE GEORGE — All eyes will be on Nanaimo January 30th as voters cast their ballots in one of the most pivotal byelections in B.C. history.
There’s a lot of interest in the seat because an NDP loss and a BC Liberal win would mean a tie between two voting blocks – the NDP and BC Greens and the BC Liberals in the legislature.
Prince George-Mackenzie Liberal MLA Mike Morris says he’ll be keeping a close on the race noting his party is running a strong candidate.
To make matters more interesting, he says Speaker of the Legislature Daryl Plecas is facing a recall campaign in his riding and says it’s also still unclear what will happen with the investigation his office initiated into senior staff at the legislature.
