T-Wolves men’s soccer team sets program record with 6-0 win, women conclude season with 2-2 draw
PRINCE GEORGE — Both University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) Timberwolves soccer teams are on the outside looking in when it comes to the 2026 Canada West playoffs. However, that didn’t stop the T-Wolves from concluding their campaigns with some fireworks in front of their hometown faithful.
The T-Wolves men’s soccer team blew out the University of British Columbia (UBC) Okanagan Heat 6-0 Sunday (Oct. 25) from Masich Place. Third-year midfielder Mehdi Bounaaja scored two goals and added four assists in what was the highest single-match goal total in UNBC men’s soccer history.
On the women’s side, the T-Wolves picked up their second straight point in a 2-2 draw with UBC Okanagan. Second-year midfielder Sophie Postlethwaite scored her first career Canada West goal in the fourth minute while third-year midfielder Aimee Glasser scored her second goal of the season in the 26th minute to give UNBC a 2-0 lead after the first half.
However, the Heat responded with a goal in the 83rd minute and the equalizer in stoppage time to prevent the T-Wolves from securing their lone win of the season.
