Puddles Cleared Quickly

PRINCE GEORGE – City crews were able to get a jump on clearing up puddles before they became a problem in light of the warmer weather.
“We cleared altogether about 200 on the Friday and Saturday when we had the crews out and we had 28 service requests from the public identifying some problem puddles,” says Jonathan LaFontaine, the Supervisor of Utility Operations.
He is calling the early jump on the blocked storm drains before the melt started a help, as did the lack of any major problems, such as a broken storm drain to contend with, meaning all of the crews were available to clear puddles.
Last year, the City bought two steam trucks for that every reason, as the freeze-thaw cycles are becoming the new norm for Prince George.
