PRINCE GEORGE – People adopt a child for different reasons. For some families, medical issues can leave them unable to have their own children and for others, adopting a child means making a difference in a life. That’s exactly why a local family has chosen to adopt a child from Haiti.

Peter Dyck and his wife Kayla are hosting a garage sale to raise money to adopt a child from Haiti, Peter and his group of friends were looking for somewhere to go overseas where they could provide humanitarian aid. They had initially considered Mexico as a possible stop, but that changed quickly.

On one of his first trips to Haiti, Pete spent time in an orphanage and he knew right then that he wanted to adopt a child from the devastated nation.

The Dyck’s don’t see themselves as saviours and know that helping a child will enrich their lives.
