PRINCE GEORGE- 21 young men and women wanting to pursue a career in law enforcement participated in a week-long training course this past week to get a taste of what a career might look like. The week ended with a ceremony over the weekend to commemorate the achievement of making it through the week.

While most kids were spending their spring break relaxing, these 21 individuals were spending a week learning what it takes to have a career in law enforcement. The RCMP holds a youth academy every year to give interested kids a glimpse into what it’s like to be an RCMP officer.

Even if some of the men and women do not pursue a career in the RCMP, the skills they’ve learned and friends they have made will stick with them forever. That was the one common theme amongst the recruits that went through the week together.

The recruits were given certificates of achievements for making it through the week.
