New bus service to Lower Mainland coming

PRINCE GEORGE – Every since Greyhound pulled the pin on bus services in the North, there has been no service between Prince George and the Lower Mainland.

But a Williams Lake charter company has approval in principle from the Passenger Transportation Board to fill that void with twice-weekly service between Prince George and the Translink station in Surrey, as well as Williams Lake and Kamloops.

Owner Randy Gertzen says he will operate smaller buses to start, which was what dragged Greyhound down.

“We’re starting off with a 36-seat bus from Prince George to Surrey and we’re doing a 20-passenger from Williams Lake to Kamloops.”
