PRINCE GEORGE— Update: The Prince George RCMP says the standoff is now over and people are allowed to access the area again.

Police first converged on the area at 10 a.m. this morning before finally entering the building at 2:15 but came up empty.

“The Prince George RCMP will continue to actively search for 38-year-old Eric Vern West and 33-year-old Kenneth Ricardo Munroe, both wanted in connection to the shooting April 5,” says Cpl. Craig Douglass.

“The Prince George Detachment would like to thank the members of the public, and in particular, residents of the immediate neighbourhood, that were inconvenienced by this police operation. Their patience and commitment to public safety are appreciated.”
