Prince George man receives Medal of Good Citizenship
PRINCE GEORGE— Selen Alpay received the Medal of Good Citizenship to recognize his contributions to the community.
Mayor Lyn Hall nominated Alpay and says the panel who ultimately decide the recipients look for people who genuinely care about their community.
“Selen, for example, is really a go-to person in our community,” Hall says. “He’s always there to help and he’s always looking for places to help out in our community and I think the panel that reviews the nomination really has a focus on that kind of attribute that people bring to the table.”
The Medal Presentation was full of people who have been touched and inspired by Alpay, including his wife of 36 years, Anita. Alpay thanked his wife for her love and support and noted she is his inspiration.
