No added fees for policing

PRINCE GEORGE – There will be no additional fees to cover the cost of having police officers present at events. That’s because Council voted down a cost recover request from Administration to charge certain special events $115 per hour per officer.

Councillor Cori Ramsay was opposed to the request, saying it could add thousands of dollars to events and may even mean the end of an event, especially one hosted by a non-profit

Councillor Brian Skakun also opposed it, suggesting it would be a slippery slope.
