UHNBC opens dedicated maternal operating room

PRINCE GEORGE — After a year of fundraising, the ninth operating room at the University Hospital of Northern BC is officially open. It’s dedicated to the maternity ward to help with the over 11-hundred babies who are welcomed to the world there annually. Of those, 20% are emergency c-sections, with three times as many considered high risk, premature, or multiple births. The new OR will provide a space for doctors to perform emergency procedures in a more timely fashion.
