Spruce Kings win:

The Spruce Kings made us proud winning 5-1 against the Portage Terriers Wednesday night and will take on Alberta’s Brooks Bandits tonight at 6pm. The Kings are guaranteed a spot in the Junior A National Championships semi finals.

Prince George man stabbed in Kamloops:

A 34 year old Prince George man is expected to survive after being stabbed in Kamloops Wednesday.

Investigators found the man suffering from several wounds and bleeding excessively. Three men and one woman were arrested in the attack; police say the attack was targeted and in connection to local drug trade.

Local doctor named Physician of the Year:

Prince George physician Dr. Catherine Texter has been chosen to be awarded the BC Family Physician of the Year award. The award will be formally given to her this Sunday.

Wildfire Awareness this long weekend:

The province is urging the public to be wildfire smart as people head out to enjoy the long weekend. The BC Wildfire Service has already responded to 176 fires since April 1.

Work well underway at CNC in Vanderhoof:

A new CNC campus is underway in Vanderhoof, the current campus has been located in an old hospital building for almost 30 years.

The main difference in the building is that one side will be dedicated to shop space and the other to classrooms and offices. Technology updates will also be made to give students a more modern education.
