Local doctor named Physician of the Year

PRINCE GEORGE – Dr. Catherine Texter is a family physician in Prince George, the Physician Lead for the Division of Family Practice and now has been named the BC Family Physician of the Year. The kudos comes from the BC College of Family Physicians.

“I was overwhelmed when I got the news that I had been nominated and won this award,” she says. “I feel like there’s so many other family physicians, for sure, in our community and, I’m sure, across the province that would be equally deserving.”

She says, as a medical professional, she has a goal.

“My real passion is for full-service family medicine and that real continuity of care and longitudinal care that we provide for patients. And there’s a definite trend in the province today for losing that.”
