“It has been an honour,” Marquis-Forster issues statement after resignation from SD57

PRINCE GEORGE–Former Superintendent Marilyn Marquis-Forster issued a statement in a press release after her formal resignation from the Board of Education on Tuesday.

“It has been an honour and a privilege to serve with the students, families and communities of School District No. 57 over the past three years.”

She says that together they have celebrated various achievements such as the construction of a new Kelly Road Secondary School, a focus on improving learning outcomes for Aboriginal students with two local educational agreements signed over three years.

She mentions how the District has placed students at the center of their work, while supporting teachers and staff to help deliver the best education.

“Most recent measures of SD57 student achievement, as reported through the Six-Year Graduation Rates and Foundation Skill Assessment results, have never been higher. SD57 students, staff, families and community deserve to feel gratified with this achievement are well positioned to enjoy continued success.”

The search for an interim Superintendent, and the next are underway.
