PRINCE GEORGE–Overcrowding in shelters is a well known issue, and in hopes to get cats adopted the BC SPCA is hosting an adoption event to find the furry felines their purrfect homes.

The event promotes the adoption of adult cats, which staff at the North Cariboo District SPCA say can sometimes be overlooked. The cats are available for adoption at half the price until Friday, May 31.

“They (adult cats) already have everything figured out, you know what you are getting,” said Jessica Fullerton an Animal Care Attendant at the North Cariboo District SPCA.

Since kitten season is in full swing the urgency to find the adult cats a fur-ever home is high so that room can be freed up for the new adoptees.

Eight cats at the North Cariboo SPCA are ready for adoption.
