Summer is on the way in Prince George! Make sure to get out and enjoy some great events during the month of June.

Get your tickets to be entertained by Just for Laughs veteran Derek Edwards for 90 minutes. Edwards is considered among the comic elite as a four-time nominee and winner of Best Standup Comic at the Canadian Comedy Awards and holds multiple Gemini nominations for Best Performance in a Comedy. The show is on June 9 at the Prince George Playhouse.

For the first time, Judas Priest is coming to Prince George. Don’t miss your chance to see one of rock’s most legendary bands perform live at the CN Centre. This face-melting concert takes place on June 14 and you won’t want to miss out.

Visit the Railway & Forestry Museum during Steampunk Days 2019 (June 14-16) and be teleported into an era where Victorian glamour meets the Industrial Age. Dress in your favourite Steampunk garb, or other costumes and join in the fun! There will be pioneer blacksmith demonstrations, wood turners activities, crafts, rides on the Cottonwood Minitrain and more!

If you want to get active in June, sign up for the 5 or 10 kilometre Beat the Bugs Trail Race at the Otway Nordic Centre on June 15. Enjoy running cross-country and single track trails as you take in the surrounding scenery. This even also offers a free 1 kilometre race for kids.

Are you a murder mystery enthusiast? Then you’ll want to attend Homicide on the Homestead: A Murder Mystery on June 15. The Cutbanks Car Club is trying to get to the bottom of the death of their past president, Myrna Lloyd. Make sure to pre-register for this event to help solve the case.

2019 is the International Year of Indigenous Languages. The Exploration Place is hosting free National Indigenous Peoples Day activities in its atrium that blend Indigenous languages with computational thinking skills and coding on June 21. You can also make a binary beaded bracelet or keychain that codes a word from a local Indigenous language. Free rides on the Little Prince Steam Engine will also be offered.

Do you love ribs? Then checking out Prince George Ribfest 2019 is a must. This three-day event hosted by the Nechako Rotary Club and Pacific Western Brewing features world-class, award winning ribbers from across Canada, plenty of food vendors, live local music, and plenty of beer Pacific Western Brewing. And the best part, aside from the ribs? This event is free to attend and takes place from June 21-23 at Pacific Western Brewing.

Check out Heatwave- Celebrate Culture from June 21-23. This free 3-day outdoor cultural festival is a “heatwave” of music and culture which will include live music, interactive cultural performances and displays, vendors, games and activities for all ages. Indulge in delicious flavours from around the world as you enjoy free outdoor performances and concerts showcasing the best of Canadian music in a variety of genres.
