RCMP torch run raises record amount

Law Enforcement Torch Run raised $5,100 in PG

PRINCE GEORGE–Over 130 runners and walkers came out to the Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics BC which raised a record amount this year.

Including the car wash event which was hosted at Canadian Tire earlier this year the total money raised $5,100.

The 3.5 km run which kicked off at the Prince George Detachment of the RCMP, was made up of peace officers, and staff and family of various public safety agencies. Around 40 Special Olympic athletes along with coaches, friends and family also participated.

“This is such a rewarding event to be involved with. The enthusiasm of these athletes is contagious and makes us all want to help them to achieve their goals in their respective sports.” –Insp.Shaun Wright, Operations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
