PRINCE GEORGE — The third annual Salmon Sendoff is scheduled for Father’s Day this Sunday (June 16).
Organized by the Spruce City Wildlife Association, it starts at 11 a.m. from the Cottonwood Island boat launch.
Participants can release a chinook fry into the river with the hopes it will return in five years.
Spokesperson Steve Hamilton says they’re planning to release around 1,300 chinook fry.
