First ever national strategy on dementia released
PRINCE GEORGE— A new $50 million strategy aims to help individuals across the country who suffer from dementia and dementia-related illnesses. The federal government released the first ever national strategy on dementia this morning (June 17).
More than 419,000 Canadian seniors have been diagnosed with some form of dementia.
The new strategy has three main objectives:
- To prevent dementia
- To advance therapies and find a cure and
- To improve the quality of life of people living with dementia and their caregivers.
