Houston man facing possible charges following alleged assault, structure fire
HOUSTON — One man is facing possible charges following a bizarre incident in Houston, B.C.
North District RCMP Cpl. Madonna Saunderson says on July 6 officers were called to a home on Mount Davis Way after a woman reported that a man had broken into her home armed with an edged weapon and attempted to physically assault her.
“Upon police attendance, the suspect has run from the house into a cabin on the property,” she says. “When police arrived, they could hear the man yelling, then heard an explosion and soon after, saw smoke coming from the structure.”
Saunderson says the suspect then left the cabin and after a brief struggle with police, managed to break free and run back towards the burning building.
