Comments invited in decision of environmental assessment in Kitimat LNG Expansion Project

OTTOWA–A decision has to be made by the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency, whether or not a federal environmental assessment is required for the proposed Kitimat LNG Expansion Project.

The assessment agency is looking for comments from the public and Indigenous groups on the project and its potential effects on the environment as described here.

The BC government has asked that the province conduct the environmental assessment on behalf of the agency collecting information needed for the Minister of Environment and Climate Change to make an environmental assessment decision.
