IIO Investigating incident in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE– The Independent Investigations Office of BC has been deployed to a police involved incident in Prince George.

PG RCMP reported that at around 9:30 pm on July 19, 2019 a person was arrested for causing a disturbance. The person was taken into custody by RCMP and the next morning the suspect was reported to be in distress, paramedics were called and the person was taken to hospital.

Later that morning hospital staff informed RCMP that the person was deceased, the IIO will be investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
