Red Cross becomes lead Emergency Support Service

The Canadian Red Cross has signed an agreement with The City to become the lead Emergency Support Service(ESS). The agreement is an attempt to enhance local emergency preparedness. Under the agreement the Red Cross will be able to provide ESS’s for residents displaced from their homes in an emergency.

Fundraising continues for Cancer Centre for the North

The BC Cancer Foundation hopes to raise $1.75 million dollars to upgrade their cancer treatment equipment. Currently only 10 percent of the $1.75 have been raised.

Building evacuated by Fire Rescue after reports of a possible structure fire

Prince George Fire Rescue responded to reports of a possible structure fire, Monday morning on the 1300 block of 6th Ave. Residents of the building were evacuated, when crews investigated they found light smoke which was blamed on a belt bearing that malfunctioned in the mechanical room. No injuries were reported.

IIO Investigating incident in Prince George

The independent Investigations Office of BC is investigating an incident involving PG RCMP, after a person was arrested and died following police custody.

Dease Lake RCMP looking for public assistance in missing teens investigation

Dease Lake RCMP are looking for two teens who went missing in Northern BC. Their vehicle was found by RCMP in a vehicle fire, and a body was found near the the abandoned car. RCMP have confirmed that the body did not belong to either of the teens. Anyone with information is asked to contact Dease Lake RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
