After going back and forth between pursuing an NHL career, maybe playing in Europe, or going to school, a recently graduated Prince George Cougar has chosen the latter.

After four seasons with the Cats, Joel Lakusta is staying close to home after committing to the University of Alberta Golden Bears this summer.

Lakusta joins many friends and WHL opponents at the U of A, all competing for an incredibly decorated franchise. The Golden Bears have won the most National USports Championships with 16, and have won 3 in the last 6 seasons.

The former Cougar will study Education while looking forward to the opportunities he’ll have once he graduates.
