PRINCE GEORGE — The UNBC Timberwolves Men’s Soccer team earned a 1-1 draw in their home opener Friday night.

Abou Cisse notched the lone goal for the local squad in the second half. That evened the game after University of the Fraser Valley jumped out to a 1-0 lead under three minutes into the game. The home opener at Masich Place Stadium was played before a crowd of 450 fans.

“That was definitely nerves. The home opener, playing in front of the home crowd,” said UNBC’s Cisse of the slow start. “We have to be clinical in the back third.”

The tie moves UNBC to a record of 1-1-1 for the season. They host the Cascades (0-2-1) again on Sunday in a rematch.
