PRINCE GEORGE — Residents are advised to avoid Duchess Park playground this morning.

Mounties have closed the park and set up a perimeter.

RCMP have confirmed a body has been discovered but say it is not a student.

They also note the death does not appear to be suspicious.

School District 57 Communication and Community Relations Officer Jason Peters says the incident has not affected classes at Duchess Park Secondary noting it’s “business as usual inside the school.”

He did note however that the incident has triggered the district’s “Shelter in Place” protocol which means students must stay inside the school.

Peters says that protocol will be lifted once the RCMP gives the school district the go-ahead.
