Prison disturbance locks down PGRCC

PRINCE GEORGE – A disturbance at the Prince George Regional Correctional Centre over the weekend resulted in one inmate being sent to hospital.

According to BC Corrections, a group of inmates set off internal alarms in the facility, which forced staff to lock down the prison.

Prince George Correctional Centre is one of several prison facilities in the province according to Dean Purdy who represents the British Columbia Government Employees Union.

The incident occurred Sunday night from 8 pm to midnight.
