20 black bears killed

PRINCE GEORGE – 20 black bears have been killed within the city since April of this year because they posed a risk to the public.

The public safety risk is being created by the way some people manage or don’t manage attractants.

The City of Prince George is trying to meet the requirements to become a Bear Smart community to reduce the number of bears destroyed due to conflict.
