Pair of kitchen fires spark conversation on safety while cooking

A pair of kitchen fires this week has sparked reminders from both the Prince George Fire Department and local insurance agencies to make sure you are prepared for an emergency.

Twice this week fire crews in Prince George responded to cooking fires, with both of them taking place in either a basement suite or an apartment. The incidents come as a friendly reminder for those residents renting in the city to consider Tenant Insurance.

“Tenant insurance provides renters coverage for their contents, as well as personal liability and additional living expenses should they be forced out of their homes due to an insured loss, stated Insurance Representative for Integris Jessica Ducksworth.

Tenant insurance is not mandatory in B.C but is something insurance agencies do highly recommends.
