PRINCE GEORGE – Halloween day for many kids can be a lot of fun, those children with autism experience Halloween differently.

Residents looking for or wanting to make the best experience for all kids now have options.

Each year Pine Centre mall hosts an indoor Halloween event. Thousands of people are expected to attend this year’s celebration. According to Pine Centre staff, Halloween day celebration is on the increase.

Pine Centre Marketing Director Jessica Brown says one of the reasons the mall has become so popular as it’s a warm and safe environment.

For some children living with autism loud noises and some decorations can make the Halloween experience agonizing. The Autism Society of BC would like homeowners to be understanding when giving out Halloween candy and keep the decorations from moving, as some living with autism may experience sensory overload.

More information regarding how to make your home autistic friendly during Halloween can be found online. The celebration at Pine Centre Mall begins on Halloween day at 3 pm and runs until 5 pm
