Biathletes showcase Otway’s paved track
PRINCE GEORGE — The Otway Nordic Ski Club was bustling with activity Friday as hundreds of young biathletes hit the trails ahead of a major North American biathlon event this weekend.
Athletes from across Canada and the United States gathered at the club’s newly paved three-kilometre roller ski track, a facility that is already earning a reputation as one of the premier biathlon training venues in the country.
The weekend competition is part of the International Biathlon Union’s North American regional circuit, bringing together some of the continent’s top developing athletes and showcasing a facility that local organizers hope will continue to raise Prince George’s profile in the sport.
